Is shared container shipping safe for cars?
Yes. Vehicles are professionally racked, strapped and chocked inside a sealed steel container so they never touch each other. Damage rates on shared container are statistically lower than RORO because the cargo is fully enclosed for the entire journey.
How is the cost split between shippers?
Each consignment pays for the cubic metres or vehicle slot it occupies, plus a fixed share of consolidation handling, documentation and destination terminal charges. The Ship Cars publishes a single all-in price so you never see the internal split.
What happens if the container is not full by the cut-off?
The Ship Cars rolls partly-filled containers to the next sailing or, on subsidised lanes, ships them as planned to keep your transit time on schedule. Either way you pay the price quoted, with no top-up.
