On arrival at Beitbridge, ZIMRA verifies duty payment before the vehicle proceeds to registration with the Central Vehicle Registry (CVR) in Harare, which issues local number plates and a Zimbabwean registration book.

Zimbabwe drives on the left and predominantly uses right-hand drive vehicles, matching UK specification directly — no steering conversion is required. This makes Zimbabwe a straightforward destination in terms of vehicle compatibility, even though the duty structure and age limit make cost planning essential before committing to a purchase.
